Driver - Carlos Macias

I got the buggy built after about three late nights out in the shop. The build went very well the fit and finish of the parts is excellent. BTW - I didn't have any issues with the 3.5x25 button head screws.. I drove those in by hand but the majority of the buggy I built with my electric screwdriver. I ordered the Dubro screws anyway just in case. The only thing I would change on the buggy as of now would be the front arms so I could use my AKA wheels with out alteration.

Next: Practice and Testing

After figuring out how to set the brake bias and doing a quick re-tune on the engine for the new clutch/car. I put it in down to get it dirty. Initially I ran the 14t clutch bell but found that it was sort of boggy.. it may be because of the Dynamite long wear shoes, I'm not sure.. I'm pretty new to the 3 shoe clutches.. I didn't have any 1.1 springs so I switch the 14t out for a 13t bell.. This seemed to help a bunch. The track is on the smaller side with some tight, technical areas and about 130ft straight. I started with Lutz's Neo Setup and made a few minor tweaks like, changing rear camber to -2.5 and adding a little more droop to the front to compensate for the thicker 45w oil (I didn't have enough 40wt left to build the shocks with) Overall I'm very happy with the way the buggy drives-- it's planted! Lots of turn in and plenty of steering everywhere. I ran several tanks on a dry, rough, and loose track and started to feel very comfortable with the buggy. I can only imagine what it will be like on a maintained, hooked up track.

I think next I'm going to experiment with different clutching setups, and will possibly change the diff fluids maybe bumping the front up to 10K ... Thank you guys for all your help I'm (GFDracing) very excited to be part of the team !!!

Also I made an editable setup form for everyone to use. (PDF) I've submitted it in the "setup sheets area" but if you would like it before they get it posted~~ email me and I will send it to you. carlos@gfdracing.com .. With this form you can download it, fill it out, and save it as many times as you want in Adobe Reader... Email it post it... whatever..

Thank you Again Tamiya!
