This past weekend was the R/C Pro West Rd #1. R/C Pro format is for each region in the country to get 3 qualifying races in which they take your best two. Your points then carry over to the international finals where points are multiplied by 1.5. Total points from division and finals determine the overall champion.
Last year I was able to take the crown in both Buggy and Arena Truck winning both the finals event and coupled with my division points giving me the win and the international titles!
This year with new vehicles behind me I am looking to repeat as Champion!
I got the start I was looking for with my 801Xt! I wasn't able to TQ the race as Adam Drake and I tied with two winning rounds apiece in a best 2 of 4 qual points format. But he beat me in total time of those two runs by just about a second. However when the horn went off for the 45 min A-main my Truck was on it. Adam went wide in the first corner and I squeezed underneath and took the lead. We made a train for the next 45min and swapped positions each time the other person would pit. I ended up doing 2 extra pit stops and was able to make up the difference on the track. It was one of my finest races in that I only needed marshalled 1 time in 45 minutes! My 801Xt truck was brilliant and was working great! I also led the most laps in the main which is worth bonus points in R/C Pro.
So my 801Xt proved to be class of the field this past weekend. I love how my 801X vehicles are coming together and I'm really excited to just get out there and race some more to keep putting up results!
Next up is Ohio State Pro Series at my hometown track in Medina, Ohio in 2 weeks! Follow that up 2 days later with a trip to Australia for an R/C Pro Australian event. Get home for about 4 days and off to the ROAR Nationals!
Busy schedule coming and it's comforting to know I have some great equipment to take along with me!
