On February 20th I went to Antioch for Round Six in the Winter Series.
Qualifying went great I got TQ.
In the A main I was starting first. The race was going great, nine minutes in and I had not crashed! Then someone crossed into the lane that I was in and broke my buggy! It was a fun day of racing even though it ended without finishing the race.

On February 6th I went to Antioch for round five in the winter series. My goal for the race was to get a 21 sec lap time.
Qualifying did not go well for me I was second in the B main.
The B main went great I led the race from the start until the end.
The A main I had some bad luck. A few laps into the race I broke a shock screw. I had a fun day of racing. The best part of the day was getting a 21.9 sec lap.

On January 23rd, I went to Antioch for the forth race in the series. For this race they rebuilt the track. The new layout was very fast and fun.
My first qualifier did not go well.
My second qualifier I put on the medium springs and my buggy was amazing. I ended up 5th overall.
My main was a very important race for me because I was tied for first in points. Three laps into the main my buggy started to glitch. After getting back to the pits Tyler Vic came over and put another battery in my buggy and I was back in the race. I raced for ten minutes until the glitch came back. My receiver was the problem the whole time. I had a fun time on the new layout and I got my buggy dialed for race #5.

On January 9th , I went to Antioch for Round Three in the Winter Series.
My first qualifier went great, even with my breaks not really working very well. I got second in the qualifier.
After my second qualifier Ryan fixed my brakes. I had not put the linkage together correctly.
My third qualifier I was crashing too much. After the second round I was qualified third overall. Which meant that I got to race in the Dash for Cash. After My second qualifier Ryan helped me with a better set up.
In the Dash for Cash I was against two Pros, and many other really fast guys. When the race started I was really nervous and started crashing. It was fun and good practice for the main.
I started third in the main. I got a great start so by the second lap I was in second place. My car was running at its best, thanks to Ryan helping me with my set up! It was also the fastest and smoothest racing that I have ever done. I finished in second place.

On December 19th I went to Antioch. My first qualifier went well. I had two choices for tires and I chose the wrong ones. I was qualified 3rd overall when the first round was over.
During my warm up in my second qualifier my car was amazing. My second qualifier started badly because about half way through my first lap my breaks stopped working!! I got 4th on that run and overall I qualified 4th.
In the main I got a bad start and dropped to last place! As if that wasn't bad enough a few laps in, I got an air leak! So my car was going slower than a snail. I worked my way up to 3rd and I finished in 3rd. I had a fun day of racing, and I can't wait for Round 3.

DELTA RC, Winter series Race #1
Tamiya was out in force for this race!
I counted 4 Tamiya 801 Buggies, and 1 Truggy!
We're on a roll here in NOR CAL with lots of lookers and questions in the pits!
I had a really fun day of racing and my Tamiya 801 was running at it's best, thanks to some set up tips from Ryan Lutz! I managed to qualify 3rd and I finished 5th in Sportsman.
I'm running the Alpha F850 and love the power. I now have a smooth power band and I hope, a long lasting engine. We'll see.
The Delta track is indoors and is protected from the rain (not the cold BRRRR) Lucky we had heaters to stand by!
About 100 entries made for a full race day. The track set up is technical and has loads of challenging features. The killer back wall has 9 jumps in the rhythm section!
I'm looking forward to the next race in the series! We're lucky to have such a great track to get us through the winter.

On October 31st I went to Prairie City track for the Halloween race. At Prairie City they do a gate start just like in motocross. For this race I got a new Alpha motor that Ryan Lutz helped me break in. For this race my dad and I made a red devil body with horns.
The first qualifier went well, I TQ.
The second qualifier wasn't very good.
The third qualifier was my best, the track was extremely muddy which was fun to drive in, but not fun to clean up. I TQ and put a lap on the field.
In the main I was doing well, until my switch came unplugged, and at the same time I broke a front upper arm.
This race was very fun because I got to race and hang out with Ryan all day. It was also sad because the track was closing so it was the last race at my favorite track.

On October 11th, I went out to River Front RC track in Marysville, CA for a free race. My first qualifier was going great, I was in first place when all of a sudden my motor stops!! I take it back to the pits to find that I have broken the motor again just like last week. I was not able to make my second qualifier due to not having a motor. Then Matt Hunt from GFD Racing lent me a motor so I could race. I was in the B Main and had to bump which I did with ease. In the A Main warm up I broke a shock screw. Thanks to my pit man and a random guy, who I did not know, they got me back on the track right as all the cars went. By the end of the first lap I was in third and battling for second, I took second and was holding it. Then all of a sudden at 5 minutes my car flames out! Once my car gets started again then my glow plug dies. The motor takes a standard glow plug and I usually do not use them, but I luckily found an old one in my bag. Over all it was a fun race day I got to try different setups with the buggy and I found one that I really like now.

On Sunday, October 4th, I went out to Rescue, CA for a club race. I wanted to try something different with my buggy so I put the battery up front. I kinda liked the change but I am not sure I am going to keep it in. In my first qualifier right before the start the crank in my motor broke!!! Luckily, I had a back up motor for parts and I put a new crank in. The second qualifier went well, I qualified second overall. In the main, I had a wheel problem on the first lap but I got that fixed which made me a lap behind First place so I had to make up a lot of time. I got up to second and that is where I finished. Overall it was a great race day, I had a lot of fun and learned how to take apart a motor.

This last weekend I went to the Harvest Race at Rescue. It is the biggest race of the year with 110 entries. When I got to the track for practice my motor was not doing very well. I got it tuned and working okay, but I was only getting five minutes of run time with it. In my first qualifier I was trying too hard and was just crashing all the time and I got third in my heat and ran out of gas just after I passed the line. The second qualifier was going better until I tried to go a little faster and I started to crash again. So in my third qualifier I was going to try and go slower so not to crash. It was working great when it looked like I was going to get TQ until I got tangled up with another car and it put me back about fifteen seconds. So for the A main I was qualified in the 8th position. Halfway through the first lap I was in third. But then I crashed and I was dead last!! Six minutes into the race I was back up to second place and I was chasing down first place, but then my car flamed out. My car flamed out four or five more times after that. As if that was not bad enough as I was going down the straight away when my throttle servo died! I tried to get on the breaks so I would not run into the wall but it was too late and I crashed into the wall. Luckily my car did not break. Over all it was a great weekend, I learned a lot about tuning a motor and that sometimes driving slower and not crashing is actually faster! I had a great time at the race. After the race I put in my back-up servo and let people drive my 801. They all loved my Tamiya and some are considering getting one.
