SNOWBIRD NATIONALS

Just arrived back from the Snowbird Nationals, for those who have not been this is one of the most organized events in the world.

I have had my 416X dialed this year, top 3 finishes and the car has been working like a Tamiya. At the Snowbird Nationals again I had a top 5 car in Modified TC, unfortunately I had a repeat of last year having all sort's of ESC problems.

In TC mod we were unable to get a linear feel in the ECS and this made the car hard to drive and ended up sorting it out on the last day which was clearly too late.

In 17.5 super sport , again a repeat of last year as we were under powered and could not run  A-main time.

Again the car was awesome, I started off with Jilles Snowbird set-up from last year and tweaked it from there.

Mississippi Snowbirds warm up event.

This past weekend I drove down to Mississippi for their Snowbird warm-up race. Good turn out as they had every class except MOD of course. I once again ran 17.5 super sport. Car is awesome (416xl) well balanced and drove well. I never managed to put down a clean qualifier and qualified 4th. Main went well got into 2nd and chasing down the leader but taken it serious and trying to hard I kept tagging boards and finished 2nd.

I ran Jaco blues and all worked well, I have started building a new kit for the birds as that will be our next stop.

Race report from the 2010 XRAY Challenge held in Memphis TN,

Had a great weekend in TN, ran super stock 17.5 not mod but now days with all the new features in the new speedo's  it  make super stock fast. Racing was fast and super close. We had 40 super stock cars with drivers from all over the south east. I manged to TQ in round 4 followed closely by 9 XRAY cars, Yes, 1 Tamiya and the rest were all XRAY. Mains went well I managed to break away from the filed and kept it clean till crossing the line, my Tamiya was awesome all weekend long, made small adjustments here and there and car was perfectly balanced.

It's time for Indoor season.

So since I have been back unfortunately I have not been to any on-road events, all off-road, however this weekend I drove up to TN to run outdoor asphalt in TN and attended one of the Music City Races, the race was Reedy format, 6 races heads up , I have been testing the Exotek chassis and love it, great balance and smooth feel, I also tested the SPEC R front double cvd and rear Gear diff and these are a must have, no chatter turning full lock, the rear gear diff is AWESOME, no rebuilding diffs again for me.I ran 2000 oil in it and felt like I had a regular diff ,smooth and hassle free , on power exiting turns you must feather the throttle or it will try to kick out .

Good to be back at Tamiya.

So Let me start off by saying " its good to be back " after a long needed break and getting life in order I'm ready to race again.

I have a local track www.track.nexusracing.com this is my local Indoor carpet track, about 60x40, we have a lot of  TC and 1/12.

Our TC class unfortunately is 17.5 but with the new speedo's out there they are just as much fun but not MOD.

1/12 we run 13.5 and this of course is our biggest class.

I will be attending 4 major on-road events a year and travelling with Charlie Suangka from Novak, unfortunately we will not be attending the next race in our schedule which is the Roar carpet nationals, due to improvement and testing on the new Kinetic ESC.

The 416x lke all the previous Tamiya kits is phenomenal, when I left Tamiya I was running the first edition of the 415, the kit went perfect together and the quality is like no other.I had my first test day this past Wednesday and will be at the track all day Saturday.

I will be doing a lot of testing regarding Jaco Blue rubber tires and set up so feel free to post any questions.
