BYRON FUEL RACE (FUNTIME HOBBIES Hesperia California)

Hi everyone,Byrons fuel held a race at Funtime Hobbies this past weekend, great facility hobbyshop included. The track layout was great, got pretty rutted after 4 qualifiers, but thats what I like ,it makes it more challenging.I ran Pro buggy and truggy had tire glue  issues all 4 rounds, but  both buggys ran awsome the truggy was flawless,I slowed down in the rounds, that was a mistake, and fell back to end up qualifying 2nd for the main. The truggy ran so good even though I didn't have it setup for a veryrough track, but I was able to keep the truggy on its toes for 30minutes in the main, I will have a rough track setup to make it even better. The last 15minutes my tire was off the rim,so that slowed me down big time,so I decided to just lay it down" FULL WOOD" with a flat untill the motor got so hot which slowed my lap times even more,25minutes in I was pushing the truggy so hard with the rear tire off the rim  that's when ,I heard Cody King yell out to me that my rear diff was grinding,I was still able to take the WIN.This truggy is the best, barnone. The buggy again ran fantastic no breakdowns,I did not have a rough track setup for the buggy,on top of that the tires kept coming off the rims,I don't know if the glue was bad or it just was my gluing. The race was awsome the track was challenging which again I like, it puts your driving skills to the test.I fell all the way back, but was able to get up to third 5minutes in when my front tires along with the rear tire came unglued, which made me drive the buggy harder,I had a hard time keeping it fast with four tires wanting to come off the rims. With the track being so rough made it fun but challenging, was able to get in the 1st spot when my tires could not take the pounding anymore, that caused my shock tower screw to  brake, the buggy was still able to keep the pace, because of my shock not in place there was to much force on the steering link,so it broke. The rest of the race you can probably guess on the outcome,I think I would have finished second behind Cody King, but he also broke. When I was inspecting the buggy after the race, I  noticed the clutch bell was coming off due from running it so hard with flat tires,I am going to change tire glue for the next race, thats for sure.Remember there are other great tracks out there, that will give you experience,so your not caught off guard"SUPPORT ALL YOUR LOCAL TRACKS"The End.HAVE FUN;Ricky Racer

Hi everyone I narrowed my truggy tuesday night at our local track and it felt pretty good' a little unstable, but I like that little off balance it makes driving the truggy interesting, what I mean by that it picks up my driving skills I am going to test it again this weekend and I will let everyone know more.Let me know what you think if you dare narrow your  truggy.Keep in touch, and remember the 801x/801xt hate the couch. Have Fun; Ricky Racer

Hi everyone'just want to let you know that we have the lightened chassis ,dogbones and driveshafts and it feels really good all around, hope everyone gets a chance to try it.Although the stock parts gave me fast lap times, you tend to push it more when you have something new.Try it and let me know what you think. Have Fun! Fast/Smooth; Ricky Racer.

Hi everyone we had a great time at the kyosho race at revelation raceway, ontario california,I made the Amain with my 801xt truggy two bad qualifers, but made up for it in the 3rd qualifer, the truck handle like a charm,Found out later my dad installed a buggy front diff in the truggy we couldn't figure it out untill I took it apart we needed that last qualifer,we swapped diffs and wow what a difference.I'm going to deduct my pit guys check LOL.The 801x handled great, but we had motor issues which in the middle of trying to figure out the truggy issue we ended up tuning our motor to rich for the qualifers on the buggy,we had set the buggy/truggy up with the same setup that ryan lutz used at the rc pro revelation raceway earlier this year exept we had used 40wt shock oil front and 37.5wt shock oil rear and it handled great because of colder weather temps. Fast/smooth Ricky Racer

Hi everyone realy quik thanks to Ryan last weekend for your help and everyone at Tamiya you guys have been great support the buggy and truggy are awsome,we look forward to running for practice, testing things and off course racing these machines.I can't wait for the new a-arms I heard that they  are coming out, these machines will be the envy of the tracks. We had several people at the track run a couple of laps and they were impressed, even some losi diehards they know who they are.We added two tamiya silver shims to the diffs at the ring gear side and it tightened it up perfect, the thin shims that came with kit. That was something we perfected over the weekend at the jbrl finals,I actually led the Pro truggy amain for two laps until the front diffs stripped out,but that was my fault due to lack of shims. We forgot to do it on the truggy I'll have to have a long chat with my dad on that one ,I will be easy on him those old guys need a lot of love LOL.Remember the Tamiya cars hate the couch,so lets head to your nearest track.Fast and Smooth; Ricky Racer

Congradulations to Ryan Lutz on his great performance,I didn't get a chance to race last weekend, but we did have a great time at revelation. The competition wasn't there but we still had a great time'you bet they heard the Tamiya thunder saturday anyway. We also pulled off a 41 that for us is fast,I know Ryan would break that.I think he was giving my 15 minutes of fame last weekend LOL.The truggy ran great we were breaking in a motor so I couldn't really do as good as I should ,but another half gallon and it wiil ROCK.We also found tires that we never ran at revelation that and a new setup wow!Me and my Dad can't wait for some competition to show up.The Tamiya still stayed on top all day through the main. I will start testing the buggy next weekend and try tires and a different setup,I will keep you posted. Keep it Fast/Smooth and have Fun; Ricky

Hi everyone another great race at the JBRL in southern california,we had a great time at greenflag raceway. Some of the fastest drivers in the world were there,so it was a tough race, but lots of FUN.I made the amain and it least finished the race on a brutal and demanding layout if you flipped against those top drivers you are pretty much done.Ryan lutz tamiya factory driver also attended and was driving fantastic,so we were not alone out there which made it that much better.Ryan was a great support this weekend"thanks ryan".Check out the results at JBRL website ,yes tamiya made the top three. See you at the next race.
