BYRON FUEL RACE (FUNTIME HOBBIES Hesperia California)
Hi everyone,Byrons fuel held a race at Funtime Hobbies this past weekend, great facility hobbyshop included. The track layout was great, got pretty rutted after 4 qualifiers, but thats what I like ,it makes it more challenging.I ran Pro buggy and truggy had tire glue issues all 4 rounds, but both buggys ran awsome the truggy was flawless,I slowed down in the rounds, that was a mistake, and fell back to end up qualifying 2nd for the main. The truggy ran so good even though I didn't have it setup for a veryrough track, but I was able to keep the truggy on its toes for 30minutes in the main, I will have a rough track setup to make it even better. The last 15minutes my tire was off the rim,so that slowed me down big time,so I decided to just lay it down" FULL WOOD" with a flat untill the motor got so hot which slowed my lap times even more,25minutes in I was pushing the truggy so hard with the rear tire off the rim that's when ,I heard Cody King yell out to me that my rear diff was grinding,I was still able to take the WIN.This truggy is the best, barnone. The buggy again ran fantastic no breakdowns,I did not have a rough track setup for the buggy,on top of that the tires kept coming off the rims,I don't know if the glue was bad or it just was my gluing. The race was awsome the track was challenging which again I like, it puts your driving skills to the test.I fell all the way back, but was able to get up to third 5minutes in when my front tires along with the rear tire came unglued, which made me drive the buggy harder,I had a hard time keeping it fast with four tires wanting to come off the rims. With the track being so rough made it fun but challenging, was able to get in the 1st spot when my tires could not take the pounding anymore, that caused my shock tower screw to brake, the buggy was still able to keep the pace, because of my shock not in place there was to much force on the steering link,so it broke. The rest of the race you can probably guess on the outcome,I think I would have finished second behind Cody King, but he also broke. When I was inspecting the buggy after the race, I noticed the clutch bell was coming off due from running it so hard with flat tires,I am going to change tire glue for the next race, thats for sure.Remember there are other great tracks out there, that will give you experience,so your not caught off guard"SUPPORT ALL YOUR LOCAL TRACKS"The End.HAVE FUN;Ricky Racer
