Lets kick off 2010 right at the CRCRC Midwest Nitro Championships!
Thurs Jan 21 8:45am EST,
Well 2010 is upon us and it looks like the stars are aligning for an awesome 2010 campaign!!
Over the off season I made a couple of changes to my support product line. I have switched to run Alpha Plus engines and Byrons Fuel! I am fully excited about both changes and feel they will benefit me greatly in my Tamiya Vehicles this 2010 season! On to the first big one of 2010:
I am currently in route to the track to take in some practice today. Friday will also be a full day of practice so I plan on getting my cars dialed in and ready to rock! I have the new AKA Wishbone tires in SS compound to try out this weekend and they look great! Competition should be very good this weekend with Tebo, King, Maifield, Robbers and more attending this event! This year Podium is what I will accept but winners circle is what I expect! I'm giving it my all this year! I expect the utmost best from myself and I'm striving to achieve it! Check back as the weekend progresses for updates on how things are going for me and my Tamiya 801 vehicles!

Well Qualifications are over and the small goal of making the A-main was accomplished. I struggled out of the gate with many bobbles and crashes but with rocket round qualifications it only took one run! So in round three I was able to settle down and smooth out and get into the 4th qualification position in both classes. I'm still constantly trying new things with set-up hoping to find that EASY Button and I feel I'm getting close. Hoping to nail down the set-up for the main when it matters! Check back tomorrow to see how it all shakes down!
Sunday January 24th, 8:30pm
Darn! Darn! Darn! Well it wasn't the outcome I was hoping for. I worked hard on my set-up all weekend and got closer and closer as it went along just wasn't able to nail it down for this very technical tight track. In the main my 801X and Xt were at their best they had been all weekend but it just wasn't enough this time around. I had trouble with a little chicane/ripple section and a little 'double' before the straight away. I fought hard but just came up a bit short this time. In Buggy I battled with Cody King off and on for nearly the entire race. He ended up eeking me out for 4th place by .3 of a second. In Truggy I was up to 3rd for a while and doing decent until I made a couple very costly mistakes in the wrong areas of the track. I fell back a bit and it all culminated with me loosing a serrated wheel nut with 8min to go! What are the odds! Anyways I learned a lot about my cars this weekend and about set-up! I'm excited to begin to apply it over the course of the 2010 season!
Time to get outside and do some big track racing! I'm excited to take my Tamiya 801 vehicles out to the Nitro Pit and lay it down! Check back next month for some much better results! :-)
