Lee Martin threw the hammer down in round three in qualifying, smashing the previous top time and placing him on TQ for the mains. On the following lap Pinisch landed bad coming off the tabletop, but this still wasn't enough and Lee couldn't quite slide through. Finally though the rear-end pressure proved enough for Pinisch and he hit the track marking coming up towards the double-double,

The first round of the Polish 1/8th scale buggy Championships got underway last weekend in Nowy Targ in the very south of the country. The 30 minute final was very hard on equipment and a lot of cars couldn’t make it to the finish line. It was Blazej Orlowski, driving an O.S. powered Tamiya 801X that emerged the winner, in front of Mugen driver Maciej Dzwigaj in 2nd and Tomasz Gadnicki driving a Kyosho in 3rd. The next round will take place in Dywity on the 15th-16th of May. Courtesy of REDRC.net

TRF driver Steve Bortolotti took his prototype Tamiya TRF801Xe buggy to TQ and overall victory in the first round of the RC Pro Canada Series in Ontario, Canada this past weekend. With track conditions changing all the time, it made for a tough challenge for all of the drivers. In a field where all of the major manufacturers were represented by U.S. and Canadian drivers, Steve was able to get an idea how well it faired against some of the more established 1/8th electric buggies on the market. Right out of the box, Steve showed what the Tamiya buggy could do by locking up TQ honors for the event. In the main, it was much the same story with Steve able to overcome a very blown out track and claim victory for the prototype buggy.

A last minute pass from Lee saw him take the win and with it his first National 2WD win, and first for the new not-yet-released TRF 2WD buggy. In addition, Martin sealed up a near perfect start to the 2010 BRCA 1/10th off road national series with a second day of outstanding racing giving him TQ and win in all three legs of the A final in 4WD buggy with his TRF511 chassis...
